This piece came to life during a season of creative uncertainty, when I was searching for my way back into making art. Inspiration arrived unexpectedly through a simple piece of Japanese pottery—a bowl with a blue lobster painted inside. That small moment of curiosity led me down a rabbit hole of vibrant marine life, where I discovered the extraordinary mantis shrimp.

With its dazzling colors and almost alien-like appearance, the mantis shrimp feels like one of the ocean's greatest works of art. I wanted to capture that same sense of energy, movement, and wonder through layers of rich color and expressive detail.

Printed using the giclée method on cold press fine art paper, each piece beautifully captures the delicate texture and color of the original painting. 

Shipping & Handling:
Prints are typically shipped rolled to best protect them during transit. Occasionally, smaller sizes (8×10 and below) may be shipped flat when possible. Because prints come out of rolls, they may arrive with a gentle curl — this is completely normal and can be easily corrected by carefully rolling the print in the opposite direction (one at a time). Printed on demand as soon as you place your order.
