Dawes Glacier is my original watercolor painting inspired by an unforgettable journey through the icy waters of Alaska.

I was never meant to see Dawes Glacier.

During an Alaska cruise with my husband, our planned route changed unexpectedly due to a passenger emergency onboard. While some guests were disappointed to miss our original destination, I felt grateful to be part of a journey where human life was prioritized. As a result of the reroute, we found ourselves traveling through Endicott Arm to witness the breathtaking beauty of Dawes Glacier—a place I may have never experienced otherwise.

Standing before the glacier was a reminder that some of life's most beautiful moments arrive in unexpected ways. The towering walls of ice, the deep blue hues, and the quiet power of the landscape left me completely in awe. I wanted to capture that sense of wonder and tranquility through watercolor, preserving the feeling of being surrounded by one of Alaska's most incredible natural wonders.
