I’ve been drawn to whales and dolphins since childhood, and this piece grew from the joyful idea of orcas playing, moving freely, and simply living their best lives along the PNW coast. Watercolor felt like the perfect medium to tell this story. Its beautifully unpredictable nature allowed me to go with the flow—literally—letting colors bleed, mingle, and find their own rhythm. Through that process, this abstract interpretation of orcas emerged naturally, capturing movement, energy, and emotion rather than rigid detail.

The result is a piece that feels fluid, expressive, and full of life—meant to invite a sense of calm, wonder, and connection to the natural world.
